J.Koetje Accounting, LLC was founded in 2010 by Jamie Kooistra Koetje.

Today, our firm serves individual and business clients in varied industries. Our mission is to help our clients successfully identify, manage, and achieve business goals based on the financial position of their company.

Our clients appreciate Jamie’s teaching approach to finance and economics. Her ability to translate number crunching into information and tools clients can use and understand are a statement to her passion and experience nurturing business growth.

In late 2010, we expanded our services and team to reflect Jamie’s expertise and a growing demand for full service tax preparation for expatriates and resident aliens. We also provide independent consulting for the legal services industry.

Jamie is a Certified QuickBooks ProAdvisor. As such, her clients enjoy access to the most up to date QuickBooks resources and applications. Moreover, she provides QuickBooks training for all levels of users.


Professional Background

Previously, Jamie worked in the International Assignments Division and the Tax Preparation divisions of the New York and Chicago offices of Price Waterhouse Coopers, one of the top financial services firms in the world. In the industry, PWC is known for excellence in process, access to excellent resources, and meticulous documentation. These same service strengths can be found within the company Jamie operates today.

Later, Jamie managed the books and set up the financial back offices for more than 140 client accounts at another West Michigan tax and accounting firm, Kuipers and Associates, CPA PC. Earlier, she was an accountant with Robert L. VanLoozenoord, CPA and ASR Corporation.

She is a graduate of Davenport University, Sneden Graduate School and Grand Valley State University. She is also an adjunct professor for the MBA Accounting Program at Davenport, teaching courses in Taxation of Individuals, Corporations, Estates and Trusts, Accounting Research, and Managerial Accounting.
